An Attorney is a person YOU choose to help YOU with the powers and authority that YOU give to them. The powers you give can be wide, so that the attorney can deal with all of your affairs as if they were you or narrowed down to one or two decisions. The choice is yours.

Is there only one type of Attorney?

No, there are a wide range of Attorneys available to you. The most common is that of the Lasting Power of Attorney. This type of attorney can continue in the event that you become mentally incapable of dealing with your affairs. This may be caused by an accident, disease, or just old age. The power given by you can be for your property and assets or for your health and welfare or both!  Other Attorneys can be made but this would depend upon your requirements.
